What is the difference between soda lime glass and borosilicate glass?

The main components of borosilicate glass are silicon and boron, with low expansion coefficient, high temperature resistance, high strength, high hardness, high transmittance, and high chemical stability. Its manufacturing process is relatively complex, requiring higher technical requirements and cost investment, because of its special manufacturing process that endows borosilicate glass with great physical and chemical properties.

Soda lime glass is a type of silicate glass mainly composed of elements such as sodium, calcium, and silicon. It has good transparency and thermal stability, but poor impact resistance. Its manufacturing process is relatively simple, the cost is low, and it is suitable for large-scale production. The advantages of soda lime glass are low cost, simple manufacturing process, good chemical stability, and suitability for daily life and large-scale production. However, its heat resistance, mechanical strength, and other aspects are relatively weak.
