Processing temperatures of borosilicate glass

Borosilicate glass has a high proportion of SiO2 (70-80%). 7-13% allocated to B2O3. They also contain Na2O, K2O, and Al2O3. It has a good resistance to chemical effects and temperature differences. it can not deform at temperatures up to+550 ° C, also not emit metals when in contact with fluids, and do not catalyze their operation.

Most of the laboratory equipment is made of borosilicate glass. The working temperature of thermally prestressed high borosilicate glass can reach+280 ° C (instantly 300 ° C). At higher temperatures, the prestress will decrease. Non prestressed borosilicate glass can be used at temperatures up to+450 ° C.
